We talk a lot about the importance of communication and diets. I mean, what’s more important in a nursing home for the residents – FOOD! That’s the main thing that keeps people going!

10 years ago I was pregnant and living in a women's homeless shelter. Now I'm an LPN and in school to become a Respiratory Therapist. I believe that no matter where you start, you can get where you want to be if you have determination and a little help.

I am a true believer in the training fund and that's why I agreed to be a TEF Champion. I talk to all my co-workers about the great benefits the training fund has to offer, and it makes me feel good to help others.

If you are looking to go back to school, you just need to do it. It doesn't matter your age, where you are at in life, or anything else. If you have a dream, live it! You get one life and you should make the best of it.
I can’t thank the Training Education Fund enough for everything they have done for my career. With the Fund’s support, I have been able to reach my goal of getting a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

Tragic accidents and unexpected illnesses are devastating. Having insurance protects you and your family financially in times of crisis.

Great Coverage for the Lowest Possible Cost.

Our health plan is managed by our union and employers to keep the costs as low as possible and the quality of coverage as high as possible.

Even one direct-care worker without health coverage can lead to significant costs for her personal health, the care she provides, and the public at large.
I love learning and want to see a future where there is opportunity for everyone to rise to their potential. Knowledge is power!

Healthcare workers are some of the most compassionate, hard-working, and welcoming people I have ever encountered, and it is my privilege to be a part of their individual journeys.

To be able to work for an organization that assists in eliminating barriers is extremely rewarding. I finally get to see hard working individuals have opportunities to succeed instead of struggle to succeed.

Going back to school is never easy. The “right time” you’ve been waiting for won’t come until you make it happen. The advice I’d give to anyone who would want to go back to school is to use what’s available to you. You are a part of this union, use the benefits that it provides. Act now!

The Tuition Assistance program opens up a lot of doors for me. It helped me get the schooling and training to enhance my life and skills.

It only took 2 months to be a CNA, but to get further you have to take more time for school to become what you want. It’s worth the time to get ahead. I started school back in 2010 but because of living paycheck to paycheck I didn’t keep going. This benefit gave me peace of mind to go back. It takes the stress away because you know the money is there.

I worked in housekeeping in a local nursing home, I was interested in taking a course to become a CNA and within a month I started going to school! I was able to better my life by using the training fund and it meant so much to me.
